Neurodegenerative Diseases

neurodegenerative diseases and neurotoxins

Neurodegenerative diseases affect thousands of Americans every year, leading to difficulty in performing the most menial and simple tasks. In essence, it is the structural or functional loss of neurons, and these diseases are incurable. Some of the body’s activities which are affected by degenerative nerve diseases include movement, cardiac function, talking, balance, and breathing. Over time, an individual can lose the ability to care for themselves because of the loss of cognitive abilities, as well as the lack of physical control. The connection between all neurodegenerative diseases is their connection at the cellular level of the body.

Neurotoxins

A neurotoxin is a poisonous substance that affects both mature and developing nerve tissues in the body. They inhibit communication between the synapses of a nerve cell. Therefore, nerve cell communication is slower, interrupted, or inefficient. Common neurotoxins that you can find in today’s society include ethanol, lead, and the tetanus toxin. Neurotoxins are at the root of all neurodegenerative diseases. In today’s day and age, neurodegenerative diseases are on the rise, and we are seeing more individuals affected by it. Some common examples of neurodegenerative diseases include:

  • Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.)
  • Alzheimer’s
  • Parkinson’s
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Autism

Many patients and sufferers of a neurotoxin or neurodegenerative disease attempt to treat the symptoms with multiple medications. Do not try to treat your disease with medications that just cover up the symptoms. It is important to find the underlying cause in order to experience true healing. An exposure to a chemical can cause an accumulation of neurotoxins, oxidative stress, and inflammation.

Genetic Susceptibility

Some individuals are more prone to neurodegenerative diseases because of their genetic susceptibility. However, they will not become ill without a genetic trigger. A genetic trigger begins the process of cell death and degeneration.

Epigenetics

Epigenetics is the study of the physiological and cellular trait changes that are not the generated by alterations in the DNA sequence. Essentially, epigenetics explains that everyone has different, genetic weaknesses that are based on their family history. In order for these specific, genetic weaknesses to take root, an environmental trigger must be implemented in order to turn a specific gene off or on.

Some examples of common environmental triggers include both vitamin D and methyl donors. These triggers are able to turn on the “good” genes and turn off the “bad” genes.

Environmental Toxins

Currently, environmental toxins are causing susceptibilities in the human body. You can find many environmental toxins in everyday items used in American homes. Certain chemicals may seem harmless, but they, in fact, can cause issues later on down the road. Also, pesticides can be carcinogenic, and pesticide residue is found on 50-95% of foods in the United States.* Phthalates, commonly found in plastics, have the ability to mimic hormones. Heavy metal poisoning is another commonly seen environmental toxin. Individuals who have amalgam fillings are susceptible to heavy metal poisoning.

Treatment

In order to treat patients who have suffered from environmental toxins, the biotoxins must be removed. These biotoxins sit and accumulate inside of the body. Our bodies were made with an innate ability to heal itself. However, any toxins must be correctly eliminated from your body in order to begin the healing process.
