Three Legged Stool

Do you suffer from any of the following autoimmune disorders?

  • Celiac
  • Colitis
  • Eczema
  • Crohn’s Disease
  • Type 1 and 2 Diabetes
  • Leaky Gut
  • Grave’s
  • Lupus
  • Hashimoto’s
  • Arthritis

All of the above are different autoimmune disorders, which may be the cause of why you still are having symptoms and not getting well.

Autoimmune Disorders

An autoimmune disorder involves the body’s immune system turning against itself. Many individuals do not know they are suffering from an autoimmune disorder, even though it is one of the fastest growing epidemics around the world. Because of the rise in autoimmune disorders, individuals are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to figure out exactly what is going on within their bodies, why they feel unwell, and trying to find some type of solution that will make them feel better. Even though these individuals have spent the money, time, and effort with various doctors, supplements, and medications, symptoms often remain and, in some cases, are oftentimes worse than before treatment.

Medical Breakthroughs

Just over the past 5 years, the medical community has made amazing breakthroughs in science when it comes to health and disease. However, these breakthroughs haven’t quite made their way into becoming treatments in our healthcare system. The gap between new science and old treatments has not been bridged. The following information is here to bridge that gap by offering information via an analogy called “The 3 Legged Stool”.

In just the autoimmune category, there are over two hundred known diseases, and this number is continually increasing. Many additions include more digestive problems, skin issues, brain disorders, chronic pain, and autism spectrum disorders. Metabolic conditions such as Thyroid Disorders, Type 1 Diabetes, and the inability to lose weight are being combined to the ever growing autoimmune disorder list. In essence, if a patient has a medical issue, doesn’t know what the underlying issue is, and the doctor can’t figure it out as well, then most likely the patient has an autoimmune disorder.

Our current testing systems for an autoimmune condition has not been updated for quite some time, and it still remains in the Stone Age. Many patients suffer from an autoimmune condition for 10-20 years until they are finally tested positive. This means an individual’s immune system has been contributing multiple unwanted conditions and inflammation for those 10-20 years. After all this time, a patient is ready to know what is wrong with them in order to get their life back.

Unfortunately, even correct diagnoses can lead to chemotherapy drugs and steroids, which have a negative impact on the immune system. For example, in individuals with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, the treatment involves more hormones. Medications are prescribed with disclaimers including “There is no cure” and the only treatment answer is “Stay on this medication, so we can manage the symptoms”. The underlying disease is not being treated, only the symptoms caused by the disease! In the case of a condition like diffuse scleroderma, individuals are often given no hope at all.

New Answers for Autoimmune Conditions

There is another way. Finding the true illness and its cause and removing it allows the body to heal. For those who suffer from an autoimmune disorder, many are not looking at the true cause, making patients believe that they are just unlucky. However, there are new scientific discoveries and advances that give new solutions to treating, and healing, autoimmune conditions.

As mentioned earlier, this new approach can be described as a “Three Legged Stool”. In a 3 legged stool, if only one leg is missing, the stool will not stand. The same can be applied for an Autoimmune Answer and it’s cause. In order for autoimmune condition to start, there are 3 primary factors that must be present. If any one of these three factors are missing, the autoimmune condition will not be switched on. Also, if any of these three factors are not addressed, there will be no resolution, and the patient will continue spending money to treat symptoms with various supplements and medications. Even worse, during this time, your health will continue to decline because of medicinal side effects.

An Answer On Which You Can Stand!

Autoimmune is a “Three-Legged Stool”

Would you ever attempt to sit or stand on a three legged stool that is missing a leg, expecting a positive outcome? No. However, one can stand on a three legged stool, rooted firmly to the ground, with faith and reassurance. The same is said for the following information on autoimmune conditions, because this information is firmly rooted in science. There have been multiple lives transformed through this scientific information.

Leg 1 – A Triggered Gene

Leg number one of the stool consists of a gene that has been triggered, due to genetic weakness. However, just because an individual has a genetic predisposition for an autoimmune conditions does not necessarily mean that the individual will inherit the disease.

Epigenetics is a new and exciting scientific areas of disease and health. It gives individuals freedom from a genetic predisposition, allowing our parents to not take the blame for all of our predisposed genetic abnormalities.

How is this so? Epigenetics, in essence, means “above the genome”. An individual’s DNA is not their future or destiny. The human DNA is basically the same. Research from the Human Genome Project1, all of the human DNA from individuals around the world is 99.9% the same. Only the epigenome differentiates individuals from one another.

New research has shown that specific stressors turn on susceptible genes. However, new research also shows that these bad genes can be turned off. According to the Human Genome Project, gut bacteria outnumber human cells 10:1, and this bacteria can play a huge part in changing gene expression. Even more so, specific immune cells, or hormones, are unable to be produced without bacterial communication with the DNA being told what to express.

The changing of gene expression is the primary focus of a successful solution to an autoimmune disease. Without this, a patient will not get well. Without this leg of the stool, the stool cannot stand. You can find volumes of information and research on this new section of health and disease. See the Five R’s (5R’s) of Cellular Healing and Detox for more information:

  1. R1 (Removing the Source)
  2. R2 (Regenerating the Cell Membrane)
  3. R3 (Restore Cellular Energy)
  4. R4 (Reducing Inflammation/Oxidative Stress)
  5. R5 (Reestablishing Methylation)

These articles thoroughly discuss the primary focus of restoring cell health and changing gene expression. This can only occur once a cell has been repaired. In other words, “If you don’t fix the CELL, you will never get WELL”. Your body is only as healthy as its smallest part- the cell and its DNA.

All of the new research on epigenetics and its role in autoimmune disorders (and other conditions) is very exciting. Unfortunately, it has not made quite the stir in becoming a primary area of treatment. Once we begin to bridge the gap, more answers will be discovered for many autoimmune disorders or other unexplained illnesses.

According to Dr. Pompa, without changing the gene expression, individuals will not get completely and entirely well. There is no answer without this leg of the stool.

Leg 2 – The Perfect Storm

Chemical Stress, Emotional Stress, Physical Stress

Leg number two of the stool includes a number of stressors that meet to become the perfect storm, and trigger an illness. Many patients will say, “I was health and then…” The “And Then” can be compared to the straw that broke the camel’s back. Many stressors before the event came together until one, perfect stressor swooped in and set up the fall, whether it was a chemical, emotional, or physical stressor. A perfect storm has just the right conditions to form a catastrophic event that happens every hundred years or so.

Many sick patients do not find their stressors until a doctor digs deep enough to find them. The combination of stressors that cause the storm can vary tremendously.

Some prime examples are mercury amalgam fillings, a moldy home, an infection, or even exposure to a specific pesticide. There could be a variety of stressors that are affecting an individual. However, an unexpected stressor can suddenly hit, leading to a perfect storm that triggers an illness.

If these stressors remain, then the first leg of the stool (gene expression) will never change for the better. It is these aforementioned stressors that lead to the activation of this illness gene. Even if one minor stressor remains, any effort to turn off the gene that was turned on is futile. All legs must be present for the three legged stool to stand.

Why You are Still Sick

In essence, modern medicine is failing patients. The cause of an illness is not being researched far enough upstream by both allopathic and alternative therapy doctors. Both allopathic and alternative doctors are giving medications, or supplements, to treat symptoms instead of searching for the source. There is a time and place for both, but these will not treat the source of the illness. These may cause temporary relief, but there is no long term relief.

God Used My Pain for Greater Purpose – Dr. Pompa’s Story

Dr. Pompa developed fatigue, insomnia, hormonal issues, and anxiety stemming from his thyroid and adrenal glands. Every known natural remedy was used in order to try and fix the issue. He continually attempted to support his adrenal glands because of the immense suffering from fatigue and stress. Often time, his energy would get better, but his anxiety would worsen. Unfortunately, other issues like digestive problems and candida never resolved until he went far enough upstream to find the issues:

  • Mercury – the chemical stressor
  • Mold – alternate chemical stressor
  • Biking and Training – physical stressor

These stressors combined to become a perfect storm. After Dr. Pompa removed these sources of the illness, he began to get his life back. All of his problems that were ruining his life were finally being resolved. However, it takes time. It took him 20-30 years to accumulate the high amounts of toxins in his body, so it was not a short task to eliminate his body from these various toxins.

To learn more about Dr. Pompa’s journey and removing heavy metals, see his article on Heavy Metal Detox Done Right. Metal toxicity is a common stressor in many autoimmune sufferers. However, many doctors and practitioners perform the heavy metal detox incorrectly, leading to a waste of time, energy, and money or even dangerous by adding years to detox efforts.

Leg 3 – The Epigenome and Microbiome Project

Are BUGS the Answer?

The final, and third leg of the stool concerns the new frontier of microbiomes (human bugs). In essence, a microbiome is the bacteria that makes up the inner ecosystem of the human body’s digestive tract. A microbe does more than just aid in maintaining GI health digestion. New research suggests that a lack of these bacteria leads to autoimmunity. Or, when the immune system attacks the body’s own tissues.

Because of the new advances in technology, scientists have learned more about the complex relationship between gut bacteria and our cells. We now know if certain bacteria are missing, or are present in very low numbers, our immune system will go on a vicious attack against our own tissues (autoimmunity). Earlier, we spoke about The Human Genome Project and the discovery that bacteria share information with the body’s cells. Because of this, specific cells are unable to be created if a specific bacteria does not start the chain of events.

The important bacteria Bacteriodies Fragilis is important that it is found in decent numbers in a healthy individuals digestive tract. Bacteriodies Fragilis communicates with cells to initiate the making of T-regulatory cells. T-regulatory cells are immune cells that tell the immune system to disengage after activated by a threat. When the threat has left, these cells communicate to the immune system to discontinue the attack and inflammation process. The entire inflammation process is normal, and it is important to activate the immune system. However, without the T-regulatory cells to turn the system off, the inflammation becomes chronic, leading to many autoimmune conditions. Such examples of this include food allergies.

This is only one case of missing bacteria in the digestive system. Other bacterias are being studied in order to further understand their role in immunity and inflammation. As more bacteria are discovered, more answers to be unlocked supporting the statement that if your microbiome isn’t healthy, you will not be healthy.

Weight Loss Resistance

This new science changes the way we look at losing weight. Many individuals who struggle to lose weight have microbiomes with higher numbers of one bacteria, but lower numbers of another type of bacteria. With new research, it is being discovered that the ratio of bacteria in the digestive system, a dramatic shift will occur. This includes autoimmune disorders, weight loss resistance, and other chronic conditions. In the case of weight loss resistance, the individual will begin to lose weight.

Leaky Gut

Leaky gut is a digestive tract that has too many bad bacteria and not enough good bacteria. This is known as dysbiosis, and the gut has gaps and holes. Toxins and undigested proteins are able to leak through the gut and into the bloodstream, leading to an inflammation response and autoimmunity. When a leaky gut is driven by a poor microbiome, it is a significant cause of various autoimmune disorders. These conditions must be fixed so that the digestive system can reset.

In the findings of Dr. Alessio Fasano, MD, the three legged stool analogy was confirmed. The 2011 study “Leaky Gut and Autoimmune Disease”2 mention three primary causes of autoimmunity that must be addressed:

A researcher of autoimmune and celiac diseases named Alessio Fasano M.D. verified my three-legged stool analogy. His findings in the 2011 study “Leaky Gut and Autoimmune Disease”2 speak of three causes of autoimmune that need to be addressed for prevention and reversal:

  1. Genetic predisposition
  2. Exposure to environmental triggers
  3. Dysbiosis

Beyond Probiotics for Autoimmunity

The Bacteria or Bugs Inside You and the Art of Fermentation.

The best probiotics on the market only have 7-12 strains of good bacteria. However, the human digestive system contains thousands of bacterial strains. It is good to take probiotics, but many of the good bacteria needed are not going to be found in a simple pill.

Where To Get The Right Bacteria

The most strains of bacteria are found in human fecal material, and fecal microbial transplant is being used for various diseases. You may say “Gross!”, but the fact remains that many individuals have had their lives saves through the transfer of bacteria. Microbiologists are diligently working to isolate the unique bacteria to make available in a pill form.

Until that pill is available, beneficial bacteria can be obtained through fermentation. Fermentation is a lost art when it comes to human healing methods, even though it offers trillions of bacteria. Since the invention of the refrigerator, fermenting food is no longer needed for preservation. However, this lost art has made a huge dent in gut bacteria. Also, the overuse of antibiotics, antimicrobials, and purifying hand gels and cleaners has led to an increase of autoimmune diseases.

An Emerging Tool for Autoimmune and Leaky Gut

A diet that is very high in fat and low in carbohydrates is keto-adaptation. When the glucose levels from carbohydrate become low enough, the brain switches from using glucose for energy to using ketones. The brain is unable to use fats for energy, so it must break down fats into ketones.

This type of diet has been in use since the 1920’s in mainstream medicine to manage and treat diabetes and seizures. The practice eventually ceased, but it is slowly re-emerging because of many modern medicine failures to treat chronic diseases. Keto adaptation is being implemented for treating weight loss resistance, neurodegenerative brain disorders, metabolic syndrome, severe gut disorders, autism, and various autoimmune disorders including celiac and Crohn’s disease.

Research in this area has continually increased over the past decade. However, keto-adaptation is still not being implemented for diseases that are not responding to typical methods. To implement this type of treatment, contact Moore Life Health Solutions to schedule an appointment and create a game plan for you.

Without the final, third leg of the stool, it is impossible to get well. All legs must be part of the treatment and solution. All three legs contributed to the cause, so all three legs must be addressed.

New Science and Solutions for Autoimmune

Many patients have finally found hope after trying years of different treatments, spending exorbitant amounts of money, and spending exhaustive amounts of time. The key to true health is finding the root of the cause and removing it. The new research on autoimmune treatment is not rocket science, but new science.

If you have experienced unexplained illnesses, gone through various treatments, and you can still not find relief, it may be an autoimmune disorderis not rocket science, but in the case of autoimmune it is most definitely new science. Many ends up with multiple medications and supplements, for which their is a time. However, when these fail, remember the three legged stool.
